Home Sick

This has been my trusty sidekick for the last few days:
Yes, unfortunately this week our family fell victim to the dreaded flu. Well, except this guy...

... and Ryan. He never catches anything! He claims his iron stomach, which he developed while living in Mexico for two years, is his saving grace. So we've been home bound. It hasn't been so bad though, luckily our case was mild and it's given me an excuse to slow down and relax before the excitement of the holidays...
... relax and savor the small moments with my children.
Our week has been filled with games of i spy, alphabet bingo, doggy, doggy, find the bone, and all of us piled on my bed spotting animals in the textured ceiling :) Today we are mostly better and spent the afternoon reading, and snuggling, and talking. Not just talking, but me listening carefully to their little thoughts and ideas, their questions and stories...
... i love them... i love their personalities... i love the little faces and noises and expressions they make that are so uniquely Sophie, Porter or Jack.

We've also enjoyed some breathtaking skyscapes out our picture windows as well:
There's Timp
You know "America, the Beautiful"... I never understood the phrase, "purple mountain majesties" until I moved to Utah. Gorgeous!
Do you see the purple mountains? They're right above the teal port-a-potty :)
