Herriman Homestead- the basement project

Here is a picture of Ryan's wonderful dad and brother Spencer working on the basement project.
They came out for a long weekend to help Ryan begin the task of finishing our basement. And after a long weekend filled with work and some fun, they along with Ry and a little help from Mark framed a good portion of the space, did some electrical, and sheet rocked a bedroom... awesome! Now we have somewhere to stick those pesky in-laws when they come out to visit... only joking ;)

I think one of the best parts of the weekend besides listening to Grandma read Mrs. Piggle Wiggle to the kids and family dinners and games and visiting and watching the kids play with their uncles was hearing about how the guys decided to have a contest... or some sort of Sorenson competition breaking sheet rock with their heads. Hmmmm.

Side note: Sorenson=competition. One of my favorite to date was originated by my sweetheart- Slowly and carefully extend the tape measure toward the ceiling as far as you can without having it bend and crash down. Whoever extends the farthest.. you've got it... winner. I also remember one of my first outings with the whole family when Ryan and I were first dating. It was a hike and about a half hour of it was spent running down a little narrow path then jumping up a tall boulder... whoever could reach the highest... you've got it... winner.

Anyhow, they all survived the, "breaking sheet rock with head competition" so that was happy. More basement updates coming soon...
