10 year trip-Part 3

On Tuesday the 15th, we left the kids with my wonderful parents and headed here... where we were married exactly 10 years earlier.

We spent some time there feeling the peace of the temple. And outside, gazing up at the gold spires and looking out over the bay we sat together... crying and talking, and thinking and laughing about our life together these years. Our experiences and trials, our heartaches and joys. We talked about mistakes and learning, and faith and sacrifice, and about the love of God.

After leaving Oakland our plan was to head to San Francisco for the day and enjoy all the fun touristy spots. But the rain started up and the thought of being outdoors all day in the cold and rain didn't seem too appealing, so we headed straight for the Beach House, which would have been our destination that night anyway... and spent a couple days relaxing by the seashore.

10 year trip-Part 1

So last month we headed to Cali to visit family and celebrate 10 years of marital bliss :)

We couldn't wait to escape the cold of Utah and enjoy some real Spring weather.

Here we are... hello California!

Unfortunately California was having some unusually cold Spring weather the week of our visit. Luckily our destination would not include snow, only rain in abundance :) The picture above is on the pass (Tahoe area). We got stuck for about an hour... roads blocked because of dangerous weather conditions. Luckily we were stocked with snacks, blankets and good music.

Nothing could get Jack down, not even road blocks in the last couple hours of a 10hr. trip. In fact he was happy to be stuck for awhile. It meant freedom from the car seat!
