end of summer doldrums- Activity #2

Activity #2
Dinosaur Ice Excavation

HOW TO

1. Pour water into plastic containers
2. Add dinosaurs
3. Freeze your dinos
4. Pop out your ice block
5. Excavate!!

TOOLS
toothbrush/paintbrush, toy hammer,
spray bottle with warm water

step 1&2
 step 3

 step 4
 cold hands... brrr

 step 5

The spray bottle with warm water is really fun... the ice slowly melts and dinosaur body parts start to emerge.  (You can scrub away with your brush feeling like a real paleontologist!)  The toy hammer (or end of the plastic rolling pin that Porter opted for) did work well but the activity didn't last quite as long for him.  Next time I think I'll try a really large plastic bowl... more ice, more dinos, more fun!

Kelsey! I just saw that you and Ryan are expecting! Yay! I am so so incredibly happy for you. I know that pregnancy has always been a struggle for your family. I can't imagine all the heart break you have been through. I love that you were starting to think 3 kids was great, and then you found out you were pregnant. I love that. It seems like the Lord always has a plan for you when you are least expecting it. I love your cute family. I hope all is well. Your kids are so big and way too cute!
