Now I know why all my hair bands are stretched out. They're being used as dog collars.

The other night I was upstairs finishing some laundry. Sophie had found the pack of gum that I usually carry in my purse and brought it up to me asking for a piece. I didn't really want her to have it just because small children and gum don't mix well. You always find it later on in the carpet somewhere or in their hair or they swallow it. But, I decided to let her share a piece with me anyway. As I gave her the piece I told her to make sure that she put it directly into the garbage when finished and to not swallow it. She solemnly promised and took the gum eagerly, then went on her merry way. A few minutes later she came back to tell me a story. In very dramatic Sophie fashion she told me how Po had seen her with the gum and wanted it, but she had made it very clear to him that gum is only for big kids because they know how be very careful with it... then, right in the middle of her story she paused with a terrified look on her face, because in mid sentence she had swallowed the minty treat. Sensing her distress I asked her if she had just swallowed the gum. This was her reply:
Well Mommy... the slippery gum was very very sneaky and just slipped down my throat. I think it wanted to go to the party in my tummy ... wow, that gum was just very sneaky Mommy.
I had to just laugh to myself.

I hate it when gum is so sneaky like that. That's hillarious! I use that line all the time to get Hazel to eat and it works "please can i come to the party". Don't you love hearing kids version of stories...cracks me up!
How cute. . .
Somehow it's always cuter when it's someone else's kids. When my kids get super creative, it's not always so cute . . . sometimes it's just irreversable damage.
Sophie and Porter have beautiful eyes, by the way.
Sophie and her adorable stories! She always makes me smile! I love her Christmas morning boots, too.
such a cute story! I
The slippery gum was very sneaky - I can totally picture her saying this in a dramatic tone - how hilarious!!
She is so sweet! The whole time I was reading that I could hear Sophie's cute little voice.
Sophie is so cute! My kids have sneaky gum a lot too. I'm just glad to know there is a party in their tummy it is heading too!!
